Maroma offers a variety of choices on and off-site. Enjoy the use of the three swimming pools, Cultural Palapa, or for something a little more active why not try diving, sport fishing, kayaking, parasailing, windsurfing, sailing, swimming with dolphins, golf or horse back riding.
The fabulous reefs surrounding Maroma invite you to see the huge variety of corals, colorful fish and extraordinary creatures that live just under the surface in our backyard. Our currents are as gentle as our guides so you don't have to be a strong swimmer or an expert to enjoy our incredible adventures in the water.
Tennis - Practice your tennis in the middle of the jungle with a former national Mexican champion, or try something more informal, playing beach tennis with music therapy.
Sailing - If above-water activity is of more interest, there are Hobie-cats, kayaks, windsurfing and kite boarding. Or go for a cruise on the lovely 27-foot Maroma catamaran, where sea turtles, dolphins and rainbows may provide amazing entertainment.
Scuba Diving & Snorkeling - Maroma offers some of the best underwater views in the world. In just ten minutes you can be on your own private reef with a marine biologist at your side.
Maroma Fishing -We can take you fishing for your dinner like the locals do it. Troll for Barracuda, Grouper, Snapper and Snook in and around Maroma Bay and impress your friends when you disembark with your prize catch. Ask for bone fishing too.
Deep Sea and Fly Fishing - The Yucatan Channel, which runs just offshore of Maroma is renowned as a paradise for sport fishing enthusiasts. Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo and Barracuda abound in these extremely deep and rich waters. Closer to shore the informal angler can have the thrill of catching a variety of excellent eating fish.
All deep-sea fishing yacht's are fully equipped and professionally crewed, 31 ft. sport fishers that accommodate up to 8 people. Bait, equipment, beer and soft drinks available.
Riviera Maya, Mexico -- Kinan (pronounced - keynan) is the Maya word for "the source of the sun". Similar to the Asian concept of Chi, Kinan is often referred to as the individual inner energy. Opened in the fall of 2004, the new spa combines Mayan concepts to offer a full range of spa services in unique environments including treatment rooms with private gardens, four outdoor massage palapas (small thatched roof pavilions) and a rooftop tower treatment room with 360 degree views that capture the two ecological systems of Maroma the jungle and the sea.
The Spa at over 6,365 square feet was handcrafted by the same family of Maya masons that have been working with Maroma founder and architect, Jose Louis Moreno, for over four decades. This long standing creative collaboration is one of the reasons that guests and photographers rave about the visual beauty of the resort. In addition, Jose Luis's strong belief in the Maya study of astrological alignment and energy channels has given the Kinan spa its spiritual essence -- each building and treatment room has been aligned to the stars to ensure positive energy flow so the body, mind and spirit are at peace.
