Aramara
Experience contemporary Asian cuisine at Aramara, where influences from the Far East are blended with a taste of Mexico. Aramara – "sacred place by the ocean" in the native Huichol language – combines the simplicity of contemporary Asian cuisine with the produce and seafood of the Pacific, fresh from the shores of Punta Mita and the neighbouring fishing village of Sayulita.
Located just off the main entrance to Aramara restaurant, the Aramara Bar features a lounge area, an exotic menu and live music five nights a week. Original cocktails created with fresh herbal infusions are complemented by a selection of premium beverages, including Japanese and Mexican beers, sake, Shoju, signature tea blends, Asian-spiced coffees and 40 wines by the glass.
Aramara restaurant offers indoor and outdoor verandah dining with serene views from its perch high above the Pacific Ocean and the infinity pool area. Minimalist decor opens out to the sea, with Zen-like touches such as an illuminated water fountain, subtle lighting, sleek furnishings with clean lines and simple tabletops.
Specialties
On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, seafood lovers can participate in the Resort's popular Catch of the Day programme. Fresh seafood from the Pacific is delivered directly to the Resort's shores by local fishermen, and guests join the chef to learn about the different varieties of fish and select their own for dinner. Participants may also choose the method of preparation, including Aramara's crudo option, thinly sliced seafood served sashimi-style. Another signature dish, Hot Rock, features thinly sliced seasoned steak cooked tableside over a hot rock.
A private dining enclave features the popular Chef's Table on Friday evenings. The chef's special menu is paired with the sommelier's delightful cocktail and wine selections. A main wine list hosts a roster of 200 varieties representing both Old and New World regions.
Bahia
Named for the Spanish word for "bay," Bahia enjoys a prime spot amongst giant manzanilla trees on the Resort's Las Cuevas beach. This contemporary beachfront grill offers a relaxed atmosphere with a sleek, contemporary design.
This restaurant has been positioned to take advantage of the cool ocean breezes and some of the best views of Punta Mita sunsets. The menu features a range of grilled seafood and meats cooked on the expansive mesquite grill, visible from every table.
Three times a week, the chef gathers guests on the beach to participate in our famous "catch of the day" programme, where guests can work with the chef to choose from a variety of fresh seafood right off a local fishing boat. The chef will prepare selections as requested.
Bahia features a main dining room, a separate al fresco seating area perfect for large parties, and a bar area. Bahia's bar is the perfect place to enjoy one of our unique martinis while gazing at the Pacific.
Cooking classes
Every Thursday, Bahia hosts cooking classes with one of our chefs. Participants learn about each stage of the preparation of a fresh seafood lunch featuring their choice of fish from the catch of the day. The first half of the four-hour class is devoted to cooking instruction, while the second half is spent savouring the results.
